MOST Travel Grant

For us, PhD students, attending international conference is a good chance to share our recent work, to listen the hot and newest topic in our field, to expand our networking and of course to take a little break to see other side of our world. However, not every student are lucky to get funding from their lab. Wait, don't be sad!!! As famous saying " All Roads Lead to Rome", if you guys stay in Taiwan, MOST( Ministry of Science and Technology) offer travel grant for graduate student who willing to attend international conference. The grant is not much, they only cover your air fare and registration fee, so you can combine this grant which other. You can apply once in one academic year.

Here, I would like to share step by step for applying this grant: 1.Make ready all your document and scan such as Post Office Bank account, ARC, Student ID, Acceptance Letter, your manuscript (for chemistry NTU) or abstract, short motivation for joining the conference, etc.

2.As most of the page are in Chinese, it will be better to get help from your Taiwanese colleagues. If no body couldn’t help me, what you need just translate it in Google translate (its my experience). I suggest you to use Google Chrome for opening this website.

3.Create Account in this website

a.Go to the MOST website: https://www.most.gov.tw/en/public

b. click create Account and you will go to this page

c. click begin registration and it will the following pages

d. Read carefully and click next step and you will go to this next page

e. Fill all the requirement. Especially for personal ID, If you find some error message when you put your ID number, you can just pt the number digits of your birth adn first and last initials

Forexample: Feby Wijaya March 06 1987, so you can write 19870306FW

Click Next Step until you done with all the requirement and get the confirmation in your email

4. After you have your account, you can apply the travel grant

a.Comeback to the main page, and fill the login with your account and pasword

b.Click Applied Plans

c. click the first option ( Travel grant for attend International Conference)

d. This page will be appeared, and click the second option( in red box)

e. the next page you have to click every "red chinese character" on the top one by one.

You have to fill every form in each step, then only you can continue to other step.

f. the first form will be look like this following page ( All will be in Chinese). Fill it carefully and completely, and try don't leave any blank space there.

g. Don't forget to fill every form in every step, and you can save it anytime and edit it anytime before you submit. Once you submit, you can't edit anymore. So, read it again carefully before submit it.

5. My suggestion, applied this grant at least 2 months before the conference date, becasue it will take around 1 month to see the result.
